2016 Year In Review

2016 has been a great year for my art and exploration of Revilo. I created far more this year than than in 2015, attended more shows, and have a stronger vision for the future.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Sculpted 18 new pieces
  • Made molds of 3 of the pieces to replicate
  • Launched a Kickstarter campaign which didn’t get funded (many lessons were learned!)
  • Started exploring making fantasy weapons
  • Exhibited at GenCon for the first time
  • Started regularly live streaming on twitch at the end of September
  • Partnered with Lynnvander Studios to bring my creatures into their Pathfinder and D&D campaign setting
  • Continued to refine my world of Revilo with regions and more species
  • Made more friends in the art & fantasy world

A Glimpse Into the Future

I feel like I am gaining momentum! The year ahead will be a stronger push to bring more of Revilo to life.

Here are some of my aspirations:

  • Sculpt 24 new pieces
  • Put together a kick ass display for Spectrum Fantastic Art Live in April
  • Have enough creatures to fill a book by the end of 2017
  • Expand upon Revilo to push it towards a playable campaign setting for D&D and Pathfinder
  • Hope to get into GenCon and the showcase at Illuxcon
  • Make more art friends
  • Share more knowledge about sculpting and painting on twitch

Seeing as all of those art plans are on top of spending time with my family and having a day job, I think I should probably stop there. To everyone that has supported my art in 2016 financially or emotionally I can not thank you enough. The smiles that people get on their faces when looking at my creatures is more satisfying than I could ever communicate. I hope to see you in 2017!
